About Rigorous Rabbit Holes

We go down the rabbit hole for you. Every question you'd ask on the way down gets answered on the spot, researched, cut to the key points and animated, so it feels like digging in yourself, minus the hours of digging.

Most of our stories are real ones, often from old newspapers: a crisis where money or lives were on the line, and a fix that was clever, simple and not obvious. Some start from a question instead, likewhy nobody catches lightning.

The trust rules

Trust is the whole point. Every Short follows these rules:

  1. Every fact has a source. Original documents first (government reports, the scientists' own papers). Each Short has a page here listing them, numbered.
  2. We show the math. When a number is worked out, the working is on screen or on the page, so you can check it.
  3. Estimates are called estimates. If it's rough, we say "about." If it's a fact, we just say it.
  4. The hook can surprise you, but it never misleads you. No overstated titles.
  5. No opinions dressed up as facts. If we ever share a guess or an opinion, we label it as one.
  6. We fix mistakes in public. Corrections go in the pinned comment and at the top of the write-up.
  7. If it can't be made simple, it gets cut. Every fact has to be as easy to take in as eating chips. If we can't find an analogy that lands, it doesn't go in.

About the AI

The channel uses AI-generated images, animation, voice and sound. A lot of what you see is arecreation, not real footage. On YouTube we switch on the "altered or synthetic content" label, and when we show a real photo or painting we tag it as real.

The research is a team effort between a human and AI tools, and every claim is checked against the sources listed on its page. Where a source is still being attached, the page says so.
